Yes. All vehicles shipped by air are classified as dangerous goods regardless of fuel level or tank emptiness, because the battery, airbags, and residual fluids still trigger IATA DG classification. A Shipper's Declaration and SDS are required either way.
Do EV batteries change the documentation required for air export?
Yes. Lithium-ion vehicle batteries fall under their own UN number and packing instructions under the IATA DGR, in addition to the vehicle's own DG classification. We confirm the correct UN number, proper shipping name, and packing group for both.
Can classic or vintage cars be exported without dangerous goods paperwork?
No. Age or collector status doesn't exempt a vehicle from IATA dangerous goods rules - any vehicle with a battery and residual fluids needs a valid Shipper's Declaration and SDS on file before an airline will accept it.
