# UN Number Actual Qty (Q) Max Allowed (M) Contribution (Q/M)

📐 The Q-Value Formula

Q = Σ (Qᵢ / Mᵢ) ≤ 1.0
Qᵢ = Net quantity of each DG per inner package
Mᵢ = Maximum net quantity allowed per package (from IATA DGR Packing Instructions)

When packing different dangerous goods together in one outer package ("All Packed in One"), the combined Q-Value must not exceed 1.0.

💡 How to Use

  • 1️⃣ Enter the UN Number for each dangerous good in your combination package.
  • 2️⃣ Enter the actual quantity (Q) you are packing and select the unit.
  • 3️⃣ Enter the maximum quantity (M) allowed per the IATA DGR Packing Instruction.
  • 4️⃣ Click "Calculate" — if Q ≤ 1.0, your combination is compliant.
  • Add as many products as needed. The calculator handles mixed units automatically.

⚖️ Unit Conversions

The calculator normalizes all entries to a common base before computing:

  • 📏 1 kg = 1,000 g
  • 💧 1 L = 1,000 mL
  • 🔄 kg ↔ L treated as 1:1 ratio (IATA convention)
